Linda is an avid gardener, urban farmer and community growing educator. She is also a University of Maryland Master Gardener and has over 25 years of growing experience. Her experience comprises several educator and professional development roles, elementary through high school garden education as well as experiences in adult education that spans federal, county, and regional government entities, as well as local, regional public, private non-profit partnerships.

She often volunteers with community service organizations and programs.

She is currently serving as the urban farmer representative on the Southern Maryland Agricultural and Development Commission (SMADC) where she advocates for urban farm activities and initiatives for urban farmers in Prince George’s county. Her greatest joy is growing food, flowers and herbs - all which brings joy, smiles and nourishment to mind body and soul. She continues to collaborate and engage with other growers and learn emerging best practices.  One of her biggest concerns is helping to reduce food deserts in the DMV by advocating for food self-sufficiency and home gardening. She hopes that as people start to grow their own food it will help to bring healthier foods to more community tables across America.  She currently grows produce to support various local and regional markets and food collection initiatives.

She believes that we all must continue to grow and learn as much as we can in order to stay relevant in the constantly changing global agricultural climate.  Through networking and advocacy-minded programs like this one she believes we can achieve this goal - one cohesive and engaging educational experience at a time.
